Camping Indoors

With cooler weather comes the desire to drink a ton of hot chocolate and cozy-up around a warm campfire with friends.  And that’s exactly what we did here at the Boys and Girls Club! Well, in our own special Boys and Girls Club way, of course.
We turned our Game Room into a camp ground by decorating our blue walls with bright yellow stars made from construction paper (we also hung a few from the ceiling).  Next, we set up a huge, colorful parachute to resemble a rather large tent (it took up the whole room!).

Inside the tent were sleeping bags, pillows, and blankets, along with a “campfire” made of branches we had collected from around our building.

We placed orange holiday lights underneath the branches to make it resemble a glowing campfire.

Pine cones were used to create a walkway toward the entrance of the tent.  Once the kids arrived, we all huddled under the giant tent with hot chocolate and graham crackers, and took turns telling stories.
It was a great time!
